We are delighted to announce that we are now able to progress with in-clinic testing.
Since the HFEA asked all clinics to pause treatments due to COVID-19, we have been doing all we can to support our patients and prepare for a time when we can restart treatment.
We have been developing plans to enable services to recommence in a safe manner, including more remote consultations, social distancing and personal protective equipment. We are also in regular contact with the HFEA to understand when any changes to restrictions can take place.
Because of this, although we still await a time when treatment can resume, we are now able to conduct diagnostic testing, including baseline ultrasound scans, AMH blood tests and semen analysis.
Patients who are starting IVF will require these tests and we hope by restarting diagnostic testing and scans we will be able to prepare you for a time when the HFEA allows us to open up for treatment. If you are an existing patient awaiting tests and scans, you’ll have received a message from us about this on your patient portal, please take a look and reply or email us on info@nurturefertility.co.uk if you have any questions.
The testing that is required to assist us in evaluating your fertility health is as follows:
These tests need to be booked and take place on site at our clinic. We will do health checks with you at the time of booking. We will give you specific instructions on when and how to access the clinic to ensure your safety and wellbeing as well as our dedicated team. You will be met in reception, and your temperature will be checked ahead of your appointment. Our nurses will be wearing protective gear, but will be welcoming, kind and understanding of your needs and circumstances. We are here for you so please don’t worry.
This move also means that if you have not yet started your IVF journey, you can now undergo a fertility assessment, enabling a personal plan to be prepared, ready for when treatment can take place. Please get in touch via the website, attend a patient information event or email us on info@nurturefertility.co.uk to speak to our team.
Our priority remains to achieve the best possible outcome for all our patients. The team is working hard to provide support through this time and we are continuing to offer digital counselling appointments and be best prepared for when treatment can resume.
We believe the reintroduction of diagnostic testing is a step in the right direction for you.
UPDATE: Friday 1st May 2020
This afternoon the HFEA announced that it will be issuing a revised General Direction to all clinics to start opening up for treatment. Clinics need to re-apply to the HFEA from the week of the 11th May with their plans to open to ensure patient and staff safety. The HFEA will review these plans and then grant permission accordingly. We will keep you updated as to our progress and will of course advise when patient treatment can begin thereafter.
